Melissa Cass Pickett is an outstanding family law attorney with significant trial experience, expertise in domestic violence cases, litigating highly contested custody cases, and mediating family law matters. Ms. Pickett achieved the highest distinction by becoming Board Certified in family law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization in 2020. Only approximately 10% of Texas attorneys are board certified in their area of practice.
Ms. Pickett is a 2001 graduate of the University of Houston, and a 2007 graduate of South Texas College of Law. She has also distinguished herself by presenting on various legal topics in the family law arena at conferences and seminars over the last decade.
Attorney Pickett has handled hundreds of bench trials and hearings during her legal career and completed the National Family Law Trial Institute at South Texas College of Law in 2010. She serves as a district panel member of the State Bar of Texas Grievance Committee, for which she reviews attorney ethics complaints presented by the Chief Disciplinary Counsel.
